Members are invited to attend this year’s Irish Garden Plant Society Annual General Meeting based in Oranmore, County Galway on 17th-18th May 2025. Join us for a weekend in the unique landscape of south Galway and County Clare, with visits to nurseries, gardens and The Burren.

The venue for our AGM weekend is the exclusive Oranmore Lodge Hotel on the outskirts of the town. Oranmore is accessible by train from Dublin Heuston, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Athlone. See Irish Rail for details. There are also a number of bus companies serving Ornamore from Galway city.
We suggest you arrive on Friday evening to collect your information pack and enjoy a relaxing evening in the hotel’s bar or dine in one of the town’s restaurants.
Members are invited to attend the AGM in the Inisheer Suite at 10.30am on Saturday. The agenda will be circulated to all members in advance . Tea/coffee available from 10am.
Over the weekend we will visit the Burren for a guided walk along one of the many ‘Green Roads’ to learn more about the unique plants of the region. There will be Carl Wright’s must-see garden of Caher Bridge and there will be opportunities to do some shopping at Elizabeth and Gert Stam’s Caherhurley Nursery and at Irish Seed Savers.
Suitable footwear required for garden visits as terrain is uneven and may be wet underfoot.
Our Gala Dinner will be held at the hotel that evening. A chance for everyone to chat and catch up.
