The lifetime work of Brian Duncan, the outstanding daffodil breeder from County Tyrone and Honorary Member of the IGPS, has recently been recognised by the award of the Victoria Medal of Honour by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). This is the RHS’s highest award and is given to horticulturalists deserving special honour; it is limited to just 63 holders at any one time. Brian began breeding daffodils more than 50 years ago and has won the Engleheart Cup more than 20 times. Now in his late eighties and well known for his expertise and generosity, he continues to breed and currently concentrates on developing miniature varieties.
