It is with great sadness that members of the Irish Garden Plant Society learned of the death on May 20th in Greece of Dr Charles Nelson.
From 1981, when he was the foundation chairman until his untimely death, Charles contributed enormously to our activities, notably about Irish garden plants.
His book, A Heritage of Beauty, published by the IGPS in 2000 is but one example of his scholarship. We extend our sympathies to his family at this time.
